The circular economy was the central theme of the ABC-Talk in June at the coworking space Hauptplatz 12 in Weiz. In his keynote address, Gerald Friedrich from the Studien- und Technologie Transferzentrum Weiz highlighted the economic impact of this transformation and why it offers enormous opportunities not only for large corporations but also for micro-enterprises.

In times of skyrocketing raw material prices, it is becoming increasingly important to recover materials after their life cycle and reintegrate them into the cycle. Recycling is thus evolving from a „nice-to-have“ to a genuine competitive advantage. New business models are emerging, and existing ones are being further developed – always with the goal of using resources more efficiently.

The message of the evening: If we act together, we can actively shape this development. Austria has the potential to play a pioneering role in this area.
