Fascinating Insights into the World of Artificial Intelligence
In March, we had the pleasure of welcoming Thomas Schirgi as our speaker. Under the title "AI – What's New and Who Owns the Truth?", he demonstrated that there isn't just one AI, but rather an interplay of many different tools and technologies. We discussed what actually lies behind the term "strong AI," where the data we use daily comes from, and what happens to it.
A key takeaway from the evening: AI only ever represents a part of the truth – never the whole picture.
Many thanks to everyone who attended – for your curiosity, your questions, and the inspiring exchange!
Increase your company's online visibility
With exciting formats like the ABC-Talk and other networking events, we consistently demonstrate that the coworking space Hauptplatz 12 is much more than just a workplace. As part of our Interreg project "Trending Plus Project," we support sole proprietors, small businesses, and startups in successfully positioning themselves in the digital world and actively leveraging new trends.
Part of the event series was the workshop "Digital Visibility" with Evelyn Götz from the agency crosseye Marketing GmbH. Evelyn provided fascinating insights into questions such as:
💡 How are companies truly found online today?
💡 Is a dedicated website still necessary?
💡 Is a strong presence on Google and social media sufficient?
Together, we discussed which channels are crucial, how to create a compelling business presence, and which wording achieves the greatest impact. We also explored how to specifically improve search engine visibility, not only in traditional search engines but also in AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini.
If you would like to experience the coworking space at Hauptplatz 12 for yourself, then come by – we look forward to seeing you!
Circular economy - A business model of the future
The circular economy was the central theme of the ABC-Talk in June at the coworking space Hauptplatz 12 in Weiz. In his keynote address, Gerald Friedrich from the Studien- und Technologie Transferzentrum Weiz highlighted the economic impact of this transformation and why it offers enormous opportunities not only for large corporations but also for micro-enterprises.
In times of skyrocketing raw material prices, it is becoming increasingly important to recover materials after their life cycle and reintegrate them into the cycle. Recycling is thus evolving from a "nice-to-have" to a genuine competitive advantage. New business models are emerging, and existing ones are being further developed – always with the goal of using resources more efficiently.
The message of the evening: If we act together, we can actively shape this development. Austria has the potential to play a pioneering role in this area.
ABC Keynote Speech: Legal Clarity from the Start
Gernot Wilfling, corporate lawyer and support partner at Müller+Partner Rechtsanwälte, was a guest at the After Business Coworking event. In his practical keynote address, he provided valuable insights into the legal foundations of starting a business and explained how founders and entrepreneurs can protect themselves legally from the outset.
A key topic was vesting provisions, which are often crucial for start-ups and new businesses. Wilfling explained why vesting arrangements are an important part of every partnership agreement and how they prevent conflicts when a founding partnership doesn’t go as planned.
Key questions surrounding the following were also discussed:
- Protection against internal and external risks
- Contents and regular updates of rules of procedure
- Unfair competition and how to protect yourself legally
- Risk shifting and liability issues
- Subordination clauses and their significance in financing
- Succession planning and aspects of selling a company
- Scenarios such as insolvency, liquidation, or powers of attorney
The lively discussion with all participants made one thing clear:
Those who address legal frameworks, contracts and risk management early on can have decisive advantages in an emergency.
